From Your Retired Flag

My official days are over, I'm retired from my job, I showed my colors, flew so strong, now down the pole I've come, I reminded all who saw me, the Freedom that we share, the history of My added Stars, the wars we've had to bear, I've inspired Courage, Strength and Liberty, felt tears for Hero's life, waved strong for Truth and Justice, flown high in times of strife, One Nation under God, I waved o're land and sea, My stars and stripes saluted, trumpets play our jubilee, I may be tattered by the wind, My colors faded by the sun, but My meaning stays the same, Freedom for the Old and Young, My torn and faded spots, are folded up inside, My new life shows, you see My best, My tattered edges hide, I'm now a gift to you, being saved from honors fire, a present for your special day, of me; I hope you will not tire, New ownership is now secure; My dream is coming true, again to represent My Country, another job to do, Show Honor to My folded form, please keep me where I'm seen, let others know My meaning, fates fire intervened, I hope I bring a smile to you, encourage hopes and dreams, remind you of This Country, and hear our anthem ring, Please enjoy Me while you have Me, as I live beyond retire, If needed pass Me on, and keep Me from the fire, I was folded on a special day, My future yours to do, to never be unfolded..... unless it is by you.

Like these flags, you may be tired, feel worn out, have mental or physical scars from military or just everyday life, but never forget your worth it, you have a purpose, you have value.

This flag still has value, so do you!

The Flag Code-the tradition of retiring a Flag...

"The Flag, when it is in such condition that is no longer a fitting emblem for display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning".

Out of respect for our flag, and all it stands for, I have chosen to create a way to allow these Flags that can no longer be flown, a way to gently continue on and still be useful in a new dignified way. This Flag has been gently cleaned and folded to start a new jourey, symbolizing an end to its original service, now inactive and retired. A new home has been selected, to bring pride and honor to its new owner for hopefully many years to come. Even though it is an honor to be burned in a dignified way, it's also an honor to find a new purpose, to continue on and represent The United States of America.

Please enjoy your new Retired Flag!

Congratulations and God Bless you
